Baltimore is a beautiful city, and we’re proud to call it home. It houses the New Psalmist Retreat & Meeting Center (NPRMC), Baltimore’s premier conference center and event hall, and it houses a vast variety of attractions. When people visit NPRMC for a conference, we know that they’ll have no shortage of entertainment during their stay in Baltimore. That’s why we’ve been creating a series of articles surrounding some of the greatest attractions of Baltimore. Let’s take a look at some of the best Baltimore has to offer to its guests and residents. Here are some activities and locations that you can explore while you’re here!
Gander at the Old Ships at Baltimore’s Inner Harbor
The Baltimore Harbor is home to a litany of historic, well-preserved ships. Take a gander at the USS Constellation (which is now converted to a museum). The Baltimore Maritime Museum also encompasses a variety of boats, including all of the following:
- The USS Constellation
- The USCGC Taney
- The USS Torsk (a submarine)
- The Chesapeake
You can also experience the Seven Foot Knoll Light, a screw-pile type lighthouse that’s been decommissioned since 1988. A trip to Baltimore’s Inner Harbor will reveal a variety of classic ship designs that are sure to entertain anyone with an appreciation of the sea and the Patapsco River. Learn more about the historic ships in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor through the Historic Ships in Baltimore site.
Play Volleyball at Federal Hill Park
Okay, you don’t have to play beach volleyball to enjoy Federal Hill Park. This massive park overlooks the Patapsco, and it offers a variety of amenities. Enjoy the flag staff plaza, the many surrounding restaurants and pubs (all offering a view of the park), and the expansive lawn. Don’t forget to take the kids to the playground while you’re at Federal Hill! You can learn more about Federal Hill Park here, or check out a list of great eats and drinks, upcoming events, and other attractions near Federal Hill here on the Visit Baltimore site.
See the World From the Baltimore World Trade Center
The Baltimore World Trade Center building is situated near the Inner Harbor of Baltimore. This monumental building can be accessed by the public, and for a few bucks, you can navigate to the 27th floor of the building to experience panoramic views of Baltimore. Here, at the “Top of the World,” you can stare at breathtaking views of the harbor, the skyline, and more. Also, enjoy art exhibits and special events at the Baltimore World Trade Center. The building was built in 1966, and it features an iconic pentagonal layout. Also, take time to visit the memorial to the September 11 attacks at the base of the building.
Again, Baltimore has no shortage of entertainment. It’s an ideal city to visit and tour. We’re happy to be a part of the city, and we’re ecstatic to unite people here at the New Psalmist Retreat & Meeting Center, your Baltimore conference center. If you’d like to gather guests and host an event with NPRMC, feel free to learn more here!
